For a young person, few things matter more than feeling like they belong. Arriving in a new country as a teenager, with an unfamiliar language, school system, and culture, takes extraordinary courage. Wings and Roots is a programme built for newcomer youth aged 12 to 24 in Windsor, Ontario, designed to honour where they come from while building the connections, skills, and confidence they need to thrive. Launching September 2026, this is a place to land, breathe, and grow.

We talk a lot about what children need: food, shelter, education, healthcare. But there is something that shapes all of it that rarely gets enough attention. Confidence. Not arrogance or performance, but the deep inner knowledge that you matter, your story is worth telling, and your future is yours to shape. This is why the Harmony and Jay Foundation has built everything around one goal: 10 million confident youth around the world who refuse to be defined by the barriers placed before them.

In 2022, our founders welcomed their first son into the world in Tanzania, and in that moment of joy, a question took hold: what would his life look like without parents to love him? That question led them to the children of New Faraja Orphanage Centre, and it led to the Harmony and Jay Foundation. We are a registered Canadian nonprofit built on one belief: confidence is not a privilege. It is a right. And every child deserves to know it.

In Swahili, faraja means comfort — and that is exactly what New Faraja Orphanage Centre in Dar es Salaam has been for every child who has come through its doors. What began in 2016 with two founders and three children in their home is now a full residential care centre for 120 children. Harmony and Jay Foundation has been a proud partner since 2022, and our next chapter is the most ambitious yet: land has been purchased, and a brand new facility is ready to be built.
